How can you help us? We are always on the look out for potential “crew” members to help us run weekends. If you have been to the Centre you will know that crew work hard and play hard. You may be asked to turn your hand to anything, from cooking to repairing sailing boats, building a campfire to painting crew quarters. We need lots of crewmembers to help us maintain our flexibility. We need a wide range of skills. If you don’t think you have many skills come and develop a few!

Crew could normally join us for just 3 weekends but some like it so much they are seen to be at Aldwark more than not. Our crew coordinator can work around your school/work commitments, but this is made easy if there are lots of crew. To join you have to be 16 or over, like getting wet, be able to use a pen and read!

The weekend support team exists to promote SAFE enjoyment of water activities. If you are a member of the Scout Association it will cost NOTHING to join, you will need to fill out an application form and obtain your District Commissioner’s signature.

For this we will give you:-

• A chance to burn off those unwanted calories.
• Free Accommodation and training in sailing/canoeing/kayaking
• A chance to try teaching some of your skills in a supportive environment
• A chance to join an active bunch of like-minded people.
• It can count as a residential for the Duke of Edinburgh Award and the Queen Scout Award.
• A chance to join in activity camps, fun days etc.
• Looks good on a CV.
