Welcome to Aldwark - Yorkshire's premier Water Activity and Outdoor Education Centre. We specialise in offering high quality tuition and accommodation at a price you can afford. Owned and managed by Central Yorkshire Scout Council, Aldwark regularly welcomes parties from schools and youth organisations.
We are proud that Aldwark is a centre of training excellence with frequently assessed, highly qualified instructors providing quality tuition for water activities.
What's more Aldwark is located in an area where there's plenty to see and do. Central Yorkshire Scouts have converted a spacious old mill on the banks of the river Ure - and we're only 8 miles upstream from the historic city of York. [Grid ref.: SE 466 621]

If your scout or guide group would like to use the mill but do not have enough members to make it pay, have you consisidered sharing with another scout group?

BCU & RYA Training and Assessment Weekends |
|
If you are interested in gaining British Canoe Union awards or Royal Yachting Association awards, Aldwark runs weekends in the mill, fully catered for, all you need to do is book on of the weekends. Click here for more details. |

Canoeing - go on, have a go! |
|
Interested in a 'Come and Try' session, run most Sunday's between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm for only £10 per person. If you, and a friend or ever members of your troop/unit, are wanting to try canoeing for the first time, all you need is a towel and a change of clothes.

Looking at improving your canoeing or kayaking skills? Aldwark is offering paddle sports (Canoe & Kayak) training to help you towards gaining your BCU awards most Saturdays between 9:00 am – 16:30 pm for only £15.
